the best Subaru ever

this is our 3rd Subaru, we love Subaru.
we have the 2.5 limited with tech package and POP 2 and hitch
this is their best vehicle ever. it is outstanding.
everything is awesome about this vehicle except
1) the colors for the navigation screen are incredibly stupid. Tom-Tom the developer of the system did a pathetic job and subaru needs to force them to pick better colors.
2) the tires are low end, we immediately sold the tires for $300 and spent $600 to buy the top of the line Avid Ascend GT tires.
the ride is great, smooth and quiet
handles great
the start stop is OK but not as bad as some people make it out to be
acceleration is fine, need more get the turbo version.
ours has just about every feature you could ask for except auto fold of the side mirrors when the car is off
you owe it to yourself to test drive this car if it meets your requirements.
2.5 can tow 2700 and the turbo can tow 3500 pounds…

Great Vehicle

We took a road trip thru Colorado in August 2019 and had an option of a Mitsubishi or the Subaru Outback. I chose the Outback as we had never drove one and knew from ratings it was a better vehicle than any Mitsubishi.
It performed very well all over the mountains of Colorado. Nice and comfortable and good mileage. So we came home, went to the Subaru dealer and ordered a new 2020 Outback Touring model. Love this car. It us very well appointed. I do wish there was a couple other leather color options though. But this car handles great. Corners very nice and is quiet.
The only thing I dislike about the car is the Auto Stop Start feature. You can’t turn it off. You can while using it, but when you turn off the car, the Auto Stop Start reverts back to being on. I want my option to have it OFF until I want to turn it on. Subaru, please change this feature. Most new cars today have this feature, so when your stopped the engine will stop. But this stops the A/C from cooling and that causes the engine to kick back on and off particularly in warmer climates. In a hybrid car, the battery keeps the A/C running when the engine shuts down. So this really needs addressed. Until it is, I want my option to not have the Auto Stop Start feature on or off, not have to change it to off every time I use the car. Another thing to mention is the shifter. When in drive, it’s too easy to hit the shifter to the left into manual mode. That could be made a bit harder to do, because the driver or front passenger can easily bump it to the left dropping it into the manual mode. And I did a U turn to the left and I hit the left manual shifter, and the transmission dropped into low gear and of course the engine started racing. I let off the accelerator and it reverted back to normal. So be careful not to hit the manual shifters located behind the steering wheel unless your in manual shift mode.
We love the dash electronics interface. Fairly easy to use once your experience using it. Tons of settings to learn.
This car has a more stiffer suspension than earlier models. It is very roomy in the rear seats and ample room in front without knocking your knees into the dashboard.
All in all, we love this car. My wife told the salesman to be looking for a year or two older Outback next summer when our Ford C-Max lease is up.…
